Go back in Texas history as you tour the open air museum of the Buffalo Gap Historic Village. The site is owned by the Grady McWhiney Research Foundation and is operated as part of its educational programming. The interpretive focus of the Village is of the Texas Frontier - from horses to horseless carriages. Currently the site is divided into three historic areas: 1883, 1904, and 1925.
The 1883 area contains The John Thomas Hill House, First Taylor County Courthouse and Jail, and Knight/Sayles Cabin.
The 1904 area contains a Doctor's Office, The Bradshaw Post Office, Barbor Shop, The Clyde Railroad Depot, Blacksmith Shop, Village Gallery, and the Eagon Barn.
The 1925 area contains the Cottonwood Flat School, Bourn Texaco Service Station, The Bank, Buffalo Gap Post Office, and The Print Shop.
Outside the gates is also a Nazarene Church built in 1906.
