Our first "official" ride as an approved chapter of the Sons of Texas was on July 12, 2009. Unfortunately, three of our members couldn't make it on the ride that day. It was a short ride, maybe 200 miles, to the Greenwood Saloon in Bluff Dale, Texas for some cool beverages. The temperature was over 100 degrees that day, so it required a lot of cool beverages. Five of us went to Lipan, Texas to visit Natty Flat Smokehouse for some BBQ. Next door to Natty Flat's is the Texas Hill Country Furniture and Mercantile, home of the world's largest cedar rocker. It isn't the world's largest rocker by about four feet or so, but it is the world's largest cedar rocker.
This was the first ride that the Sons of Texas Tonkaweya Riders were able to ride with their colors. Sass and Trigger show what they look like. The Tonkaweya Rider patch is still production, thus its not shown.
